
Harris Rosen, founder of Rosen Hotels & Resorts plus a well-known Central Florida philanthropist, has died at 85.While the man is best known for the hotels that line Central Florida’s tourist district and beyond, his name is familiar to many residents for his work at Disney and his donation that founded the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management.In addition, Rosen is known for his work in the Tangelo Park and Parramore communities, where he established preschool programs for children and offered full college scholarships upon high school graduation.According to Vice President of Rosen Hotels & Resorts Frank Santos, Rosen was surrounded by his family and loved ones when he died Monday morning.”Harris was an angel to so many here on earth, and now he takes his place among the angels in heaven.
