NASSAU, Bahamas – The second-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (4-0) faces Oregon State (1-4) in the first game of the Baha Mar Women’s Championship Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center.
The game will stream on FloCollege and will be available on the radio on the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).
FloCollege is a subscription-based streaming platform.
Freshman Sarah Strong had 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals to lead UConn past FDU, 85-41, last Wednesday. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers notched 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
With the victory, head coach Geno Auriemma became the NCAA’s all-time winningest coach with 1,217 career wins.
Last Wednesday featured the return of graduate student and preseason All-BIG EAST selection Azzi Fudd, who missed most of 2023-24 with an injury.
UConn is 2-0 all-time vs. Oregon State. Both previous meetings were also at neutral site venues. Monday’s game will be exactly 29 years since the teams’ first meeting on Nov. 25, 1995.
Oregon State fell at Illinois, 85-66, last Friday. Four Beavers are averaging double-digit points this season, led by Catarina Ferreira (10.8). Head coach Scott Rueck is in his 15th season at Oregon State.
This is UConn’s second time competing in the Bahamas after playing in the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
